dna_logoSomething big is about to be repeated. Last fall a large network of local search directories was launched to challenge the old guard in local search and take local search global. This Thursday, join us for a free webinar on the future of local search and the billions which will be spent by local businesses all over the globe.

Your chance to grab a significant piece of the local search craze will be detailed on this important call.

In the fall of 2008, a massive response took place after the first part of the local search network was launched by Jack Humphrey, Mark Braunstein, and Monica Holbrook.

Many people were lucky enough to get on the call and hear about a big piece of the future of the web. Many more were left out because they procrastinated or just didn’t hear about it in time.

Don’t miss your chance to get in on this eye-opening presentation by Jack, Monica and Mark on the future of search and how you can harness the power of coming trends to profit from it.

How to Make Money Blogging

Have you ever wondered how to make money blogging? Is it even possible to make the big money that you may be dreaming of by running your own blog. The short answer is…it is possible!  You may just want to make enough to cover the car payment or the mortgage each month or maybe you want a full time income that you can only imagine.  In any case, it is not hard and is not out of reach.

Some wonder if professional bloggers make good money? Well, check this out and decide for yourself:

  • BoingBoing.net: $1 million /year in ad revenue
  • TechCrunch.com: Over $200,000 month
  • Mashable.com: Estimated $166,000 monthly

All of these are verifiable from public sources not something that I have made up from thin air.  And the good news is there are thousands of other examples of ordinary people making extraordinary incomes from running simple blogs!

There are certainthings that need to happen to run a successful blog:

  1. Commitment to provide good, unique content regularly and consistently
  2. Be yourself and develop the bloggers mindset
  3. Promote your blog successfully
  4. Network with other bloggers and followers
  5. Find a good blogging platform that the search engines LOVE and keep it running

If this sounds overwhelming, it is if you have never done any of this before BUT the good news is that it isn’t difficult to do.  As a matter of fact it is easy and there are ways to speed up the learning curve.  There is a free report that I came across the other day that is written for everyone from the beginner to pro blogger.  It cuts right to the chase of what you need to know and how to implement it.

Whatever, you may want you can have it with your blogging business if you take the time and effort to do it right the first time and stick with it until it works.   There is no such thing as overnight success…slow and steady, read that consistent, will lead to a life that you may have never dreamed possible.

Here is a great post on copyblogger that describes a mindset that you will want to consider before starting…very insightful stuff from the Pooh! Silly old bear!!

Authority Black Book of Social Marketing

I don’t know about you…but this whole social marketing thing has been a devil for me to figure out.  It could be that I am just slow but I don’t think so!

There are new sites popping up everyday, there probably isn’t a single day that goes by that I don’t get a request to join a new site.  That is all fine and dandy but I begin to feel that I am chasing shiny objects about the time that I have almost caught the prize.

If you watch the “Dog Whisperer”…I feel like I need Cesar to be calm and assertive on me to keep my mind focused on those social marketing tasks that matter and not taking off to catch butterflies when they go by.

For those of you that are in the same mode and are feeling overwhelmed or not knowing where to start to take advantage of this whole web 2.0 thing everyone continues to talk about, I have a starting point for you!

Take the time (before you beat your head against the wall or throw your mouse across the room) to read the Authority Black Book 2009.  In fact, do more than read it… apply small chunks of it as it makes sense.

If you apply even half of what is this book you will be light years ahead in getting your social media stuff in a proverbial row!  Nice thing is, all the hype you hear about social media and social marketing is true.  It is true only if you go be socail however.  If you try to use all the social networks as nothing but sales hype tools you will eventually, if not immediately, be talking to yourself!

Do I hear an echo in this empty house?

Check the Authority Black Book , fully updated for 2009, and get to work….
